Delta Variant & The Death of Theaters
Scarlett Johansson is suing Disney for its decision to release the Black Widow film in theaters and streaming simultaneously.
It turns out that A-listers prefer their distribution agreements be honored, regardless of the Delta variant hype. Which means Johansson is not stupid like most of the media. Pandemic or not, she had a contract, by golly.
At least, when it comes to her own profit margin, she isn't stupid. When it's the entire American society at stake (you know, the fans), she's more than happy to be the useful idiot.
At her wedding in July she required all of her guests to mask up and get tested "100,000 times." And she willingly blathered on and on about it on late night.
Scarlett, dear, when you help build the hysteria, don't be surprised when people believe it and execs start making decisions based on it. Like every other A-lister in Tinsel Town, you have to live with your own business decisions.
Meanwhile, Clifford the Big Red Dog is being pulled from Paramount's release schedule. It was to premier in the United Soviet Socialist Republik of Kanada (Toronto). Since pastors in USSRK have been imprisoned for leading people in worship of King Jesus it probably isn't a great optic to premier films in the most populated city of the Republik.
Deadline reports, "Paramount is looking for a new U.S. release date. Paramount believes it has a winner with Clifford, but only if kids can safely go to the multiplex."
Imagine waking up to these headlines on January 1, 2020. You would think someone spiked the youth group's New Year's Eve punch and you'd go back to bed to sleep it off.
Here's the deal, sparky. It's not spiked punch. This is the new reality. We are all prisoners in our respective cities, waiting for the guards to slide our entertainment under the door on a metal tray.
Dystopian films conveniently disappeared right before we started living in one.
LOOR is not interested in building the Delta variant narrative. We think it's stupid. In fact, as Hollywood is discovering, it is suicide--Russian roulette with every chamber loaded.
However we do plan on taking full advantage of it. With movie goers afraid to go out into public, NOW is the time and THIS is the place for smart investors to build a better mousetrap. If you're accredited for $50k or more, let's talk
