In case you thought that cancel culture was slowing down, CJ McMahon, the lead singer of the deathcore Aussie Metal band ‘Thy Art is Murder’ was just fired, replaced, and overdubbed before the release of their newest album for agreeing with a Matt Walsh post on twitter that was deemed transphobic by the mainstream.

You heard right. The very fringe of the counter culture is kissing the ring of the man now.

“No more resistance! And I mean it!”

And the MetalLords replied, “Yes, sir! Whatever you say, sir!”

What happened to the counter culture? Where did the resistance go? It’s all been co-opted into the machine.

If only there was someone fighting back? If only there was a place to be Punk Rock enough to tell the man that we won’t live by lies. That can laugh in the face of the pressure to deny what we know to be true. If only there was a place courageous enough to say out loud what everyone says after they make sure no one is recording.
